cruel summer

Our street is lined with honey locusts and giant catalpas. Unfortunatly the catalpas have not fared so well this summer. I noticed the bottom branches getting sticky with honeydew, or aphid poop, when we first moved in. Now almost all the trees are totally covered. It's the beginning of a sooty mold party. Our front gate is sticky to the touch, my truck looks like it's been dusted with glitter (which is an improvement) and while I borrow my Dad's truck, I have to park it waaaay down the street.
see how sticky and shiny it looks?
