Daniel's BFF and his GF are having a housewarming party this weekend and we wanted to bring something non-traditional for the happy couple. In typical Team Thomsen-style we cooked this up together...
ME: how about we make a kick ass conainer?
HIM:I don't want it to be in a pot, something a little more unusual?
ME: like what? a typewriter?
HIM: that'd be kick ass!
So I made it. I just planted it so I think it will look even better for Saturday. I think I will push some sheet moss in there to really dress it up. Tell me what you think! (Sheesh, I shoulda taken that fallen leaf off before I took the photos... oh well, I'll take more!)

If I ever move again, I will invite you so maybe I can get such a fun housewarming present!!! Very original and special! I really enjoy visiting your blog, keep up the creativity!
what's a BFFand hi BF?
BFF and hiS GF, I dropped the "s". Abbreviations for "best friend forever" and "girl friend"...
I like unusual containers. (I planted my sloggers last year: http://www.remarc.com/craig/?p=183) But this one ranks right up there. My recollection of manual typewriter construction (yeah, I learned on one), drainage won't be a problem.
Where did they put the typewriter?

LOOSE AND LEAFY
I beleive it's now on their front steps! They have an amazing old Chicago-style bungalow...
You total KOOK!
I LOVE IT!!
I see a big business in your future, kinda like Flora Grubb has going on but much cooler. You kick her ass with your containers!
XOXO
Well, I'll take that compliment and run with it!
I want to be in your garden club... that succulent typewriter is a writer's dream!
